Anthony Davis' February Buzzer-Beater Knocked OKC Out Of The Playoffs

by Adam Silvers

On February 6, the New Orleans Pelicans beat the Oklahoma City Thunder in a three-point buzzer-beater from the unlikeliest of shooters: Anthony Davis.

At the time, the defeat was obviously deflating for the Thunder and their fans.

But few watching the game could've predicted a loss that occurred with two months remaining in the regular season would end up costing OKC a spot in the playoffs.

That's exactly what happened.

The race for the final playoff spot in the West did indeed come down to the final day of the regular season, with New Orleans and Oklahoma City sharing identical records.

The Thunder won their final game, but so did the Pelicans.

Although both finished with a record of 45-37, New Orleans held the tiebreaker thanks to Davis' game-winning shot back in February.
