A reality TV star proved chivalry is not dead with a social media post about a tradition she shares with her son.

On January 1, Nikkole Paulun, who was featured on the MTV series "16 and Pregnant," posted a photo on Facebook showing her 6-year-old son, Lyle, retrieving his allowance money at a restaurant.

The post explained the two were on a dinner date, where Lyle demonstrated excellent manners and politeness in preparation for future romantic endeavors.

Paulun and Lyle have been going on dinner dates for four months, according to ABC News.

Paulun explained the primary purpose of the activity is to teach Lyle how to be respectful toward women so he grows up to be a perfect gentleman.

She told ABC News,

The reason I started the dinner dates was [because of] the fact that I had been treated poorly in the past. I see so many girls I know get treated badly, and I wanted to make sure my son didn't grow up to be like that. I suggested we start doing mommy-son dates and he loved the idea, and still does.

Paulun said Lyle treats his classmates and teachers with the same respect he exhibits with his mother.

She added,

He will ask people who come over questions about their day or their life. It's so cute.

She said Lyle greatly enjoys feeling like a "big guy" once a month, and as a result of their dinner dates, the two have become much closer.
