34-year-old James Laity has been sentenced to 13 years in prison after raping a drunk woman and also forcing his dog to sexually assault her.

The survivor of his disgusting actions, who isn't named for legal purposes, was so affected by the attack, she became depressed and contemplated suicide.

The attack took place on a night out back in November 2013, when the girl was drunk and half-conscious.

She had just gotten sick in the bathroom of the club she was partying at when Laity found her and took her to his apartment, which he claims was for her safety.

When they arrived, he pushed her on the bed and raped her. After, he also forced his dog Warrior to sexually assault her.

Laity filmed the entire thing.

Upon his arrest, Laity told officers he was actually just being a "Good Samaritan" by taking the woman back to his place.

He went on to assert that their sex was completely consensual and that the survivor had actually wanted the dog to perform the sexual acts on her.

Laity even said he believed the survivor was "making the story up to destroy him."

Prosecutor Daniel White argued otherwise. He told the courts the videos proved the survivor was totally unconscious and incapable of giving any sort of consent.

After delivering Laity's sentence of 13 years and three months in jail, Judge Mark Eades called the rapist's actions "degrading and unpleasant."

He confirmed White's argument that the survivor was absolutely not able to consent to anything that happened that night, and he cited the assault from the dog as making the attack even worse.

The survivor was initially nervous to come forward about her rapist and the details of her assault, but she's since gained the courage to speak out.

She explained, "I felt bad going to the police but if it stops it happening to more people then it was worth it."
