People Are Furious This Beauty Queen Got De-Crowned Over Having Sex On TV

Zara Holland, who became Miss Great Britain in September 2015, was stripped of her crown yesterday after she slept with another contestant on a reality TV dating show called "Love Island."

The Miss Great Britain Organization posted a statement to Twitter,

Following recent actions with the ITV2 show 'Love Island' it is with deep regret that we, the Miss Great Britain Organisation, have to announce that Zara Holland has formally been de-crowned as Miss Great Britain 2015/16.

They also added,

We pride ourselves on promoting the positivity of pageants in modern society and this includes the promotion of a strong, positive female role model in our winners.

What they meant to write, of course, was "female role models who don't have sex."

People were, understandably, very angry with this decision, calling the reasoning both archaic and misogynistic in the extreme.

Zara Holland will now be replaced by the runner-up in the 2015 Miss Great Britain competition, Deone Robertson, who, presumably, does not and will never have sex.
