While some people like to embrace change, other people really, really hate having to adjust to the unfamiliar.
After all, humans are creatures of habit.
I happen to be the latter of the two, so obviously, I tend to freak out whenever someone suddenly decides to make unnecessary changes to my daily routine.
If you happen to share my struggle, you might want to brace yourself.
Well, the day finally came.
That's right. Instagram, the photo-sharing app owned by Facebook, just updated its iOS and Android software, and the new version comes with a bougie logo and a different layout.
Ian Spalter, Instagram's head of design, wrote on Medium,
The Instagram icon and design was beginning to feel, well… not reflective of the community, and frankly we thought we could make it better.
So, what should you expect with the new update?
Well, the first thing you'll notice is Instagram ditched its signature Polaroid camera and rainbow logo for a more minimalist design featuring a white outline of a camera on a colorful background.
In addition to the modernized logo, the navigation icons -- aka the home, search, camera, activity and profile buttons -- have also been given new appearances.
Plus, all of the in-app text will now be black and white, and the notification icons were changed from their OG orange hue to the color red.
