Karlie Hay's victory as Miss Teen USA has been swiftly overcast, since her past appears to have caught up with her.

Pretty much instantly after the 18-year-old was crowned the winner on Saturday, people started accusing her of using racist language on Twitter.

These accusations were that Karlie allegedly used the "n" word in her tweets. Her account is private, so these claims are unconfirmed.

However, yesterday, she appeared to acknowledge her past in a string of apologetic tweets. Karlie admitted to using "language publicly in the past which I am not proud of."

Here's Karlie being crowned Miss Teen USA 2016:

The tweets came as Chrissy Teigen slammed the pageant for its lack of diversity.

She retweeted a post from the official Miss Teen USA Twitter account, which included a photo of the finalists. Honestly, they all look practically identical.

Chrissy said sarcastically, "Wow how can we choose from such a diverse bunch."

She later clarified that she didn't intend to insult any of the women.

But besides the pageant being marred with claims of racism and diversity problems, it seemed to be a raging success.
