Fearless Chemo Patient Busting Out Dance Moves With Best Friend Goes Viral

Instagram

Ana-Alecia Ayala has rhabdomyosarcoma, a muscle cancer. She is undergoing chemo to attack the tumor and is somehow staying positive.

She and a friend filmed themselves dancing to “Juju on That Beat” in her hospital room, while Ayala was having her chemotherapy infusion.

The caption on the Instagram post, which has started to go viral, reads,

Who says cancer and chemo have to get get you down? We'll have the last laugh!! Having an awesome chemo buddy like @danilax21 who is ALWAYS down for a dance party helps too!! We want to show the world that dancing and laughter is the BEST medicine.

Ayala is literally throwing down moves while still connected to medical equipment.

It sounds clichéd, but seeing something like this puts the quotidian squabbles, insecurities and paranoias of everyday life into stark relief.

It's extremely easy to find yourself immersed in the mire of your own frivolous issues and lose sight of the utter blessing of health and safety. I know that just saying that to yourself can do little to snap you out of the powerful stresses of your life, but let Ayala help lead by example.

Her Instagram is filled with enough positivity to power a city.

All the hashtags on the post are also amazing:

We are #AnaStrong !! #JujuOnThatBeat #ICantDance #JustForFun #ChemoSucks #NoHairDontCare #CancerAwareness #Chemo #JujuOnThatChemo #dancing #DanceTherapy @theellenshow @cody_sattler @thefitnessmarshall @su2c @ihadcancer @americancancersociety @stupidcancer @prettygirlswithcancer

My favorite is clearly "#JujuOnThatChemo," although, the very to-the-point "#ChemoSucks" is a close second.

People have been filming themselves dancing to "Juju on That Beat" and posting them online for a while, including this gem.

Ayala has set up a Gofundme campaign to help raise money for her treatment. It would be a very cool and nice thing if you took a second to help her out.
