These Dogs Playing With Their Giant Tennis Ball Are Happier Than You'll Ever Be

by Gillian Fuller

Though life is largely unpredictable, there are a few things you can always count on. Toddlers, for example, will always make a mess. And dogs will always love tennis balls.

True to form, when a pair of pups from the Associated Humane Popcorn Park Shelter got a massive, boulder-sized tennis ball to play with, they went to town, proving that sometimes the simplest things are the best.

In a pair of videos posted to Facebook by the New Jersey animal shelter, 3-year-old Maddox, a pitbull, and 10-month-old Benson, a boxer-pitbull mix, can be seen joyfully wrestling with the super-sized tennis ball and having the time of their lives. In true puppy fashion, lil' Benson even tried to fit the thing in his mouth (his efforts, while valiant, were totally futile).

Given the pups' difficult backgrounds, seeing the lil' fellas running happy and free — as doggies should — is incredibly heartwarming. Here's hoping these little goofballs find the loving homes they so rightly deserve.
