Pisces Men Are Dreamers In Relationships, Here's What To Expect Every Step Of The Way

Pisces men are ethereal, creative, mysterious creatures, with their mind in the... where are their minds? Honestly, not even sure they could answer that question, but they'll probably play the Pixies song of the same title as they try to figure it out. This can make them a real pain in the ass to date, and a bigger pain in the ass to break up with, if it comes to that. That's why I've written you this handy guide about what to know for every stage of your relationship with a Pisces man.

They are a sweet bunch, and even survivors of the nastiest Pisces breakups will tell you they're almost sure he never meant to hurt them; he just wasn't paying enough attention. Not that I'm making an excuse; at the end of the day, it's his actions that count. That is what most Pisces men lack an understanding of. With his head so far in the clouds, he's more attuned to people's intentions than he is their actions, including his own. My best hope is that the Pisces guys who read this little guide get a clue and maybe even come correct the next time they decide to jump into a relationship with an unsuspecting Gemini, Leo, or (God forbid) another Pisces.

The First Date

Pisces take their sweet time when it comes to actually asking you out, and when they do, you won't be sure it's even a date he's taking you on. This is more likely to be a situation where you're out together already, and he just starts paying for sh*t, while you're left there wondering if he's just being generous.

He is, and to be honest, he'd likely pay for your coffee or meal even if he's not interested in you like that; there's the conundrum. If you find yourself in this kind of vague hellhole, you should just be straight up about it. A simple, "is this a date?" relieves him of the obligation to tell you directly, and Pisces generally like to feel things out on an intuitive level before they commit to anything. So they'll admire your strength, and they'll be refreshed by your honesty.

The First Time You Sleep Together

Pisces consider sex to be an escape from the physical world as much as an opportunity to really engage with the physical world. If you're a Sagittarius, you might find their style a little too slow; but overall, they're incredibly good at intuiting their partners needs and meeting them not just halfway, but ALL the way on their partners' level. The one thing to look out for is that they're getting their needs met too. They love a lot of eye contact, and having a mirror around isn't a bad idea either, since sex is as much a performance for them as an act of love. When it's over, you might wonder where the hell he went -- but I assure you, if he's into you, he WILL call. He won't be able to stop himself. Pisces are not known for their emotional restraint.

Meeting The Friends/Family

Pisces men are excellent guys to bring home to mom and dad. The only issue is getting them to understand this is a big step for you; they might show up without really realizing this is a step forward in the relationship. If you have any lingering questions about where the relationship is headed, make sure to ask those before you go meet the family.

Overall, Pisces men and women have a natural likability, because they can pretend to listen better than most people ACTUALLY listen, and people feel instinctually safe around them.

The First Anniversary/Birthday/Holiday

First off, you can always count on a Pisces guy to remember your birthday, your anniversary, and holidays. They love a chance to give gifts and tokens of their love an appreciation of you.

If they miss one of these, you can bet they didn't mean to, but it's probably a sign that something deeper is going on in that bottomless ocean they have inside themselves. They are an endless well of feelings, after all.

The First Fight

You might be surprised to find that Pisces will go one of two ways in a fight; they could go hide for three days, avoiding the problems your relationship is going through altogether, or they could blow up with a temper tantrum you could never have imagined existed inside them.

If this happens, let them know you hear them, but that you don't want to talk until they've calmed down. One thing you can bet on; they will play the victim. Pisces are the worst when it comes to martyrdom, it's their number one drug of choice to believe the world and everyone in it is against them. Usually a little time alone will help them see the light.

The Breakup, or The Wedding

If you end up marrying this sign, you can be sure the proposal will be sweet, not too overblown, and extremely personal. Remember those listening skills I mentioned earlier? Pisces will put those to good use when it comes to popping the question. You'll be wondering, "how did he know this was the ring I loved?" But he'll remember the time you were just browsing two years ago and you picked up that exact one and stared at it just a little longer than the rest, and he knew.

As for the breakup, this could be messy. Pisces don't like to let go, and they cannot stand the idea of being on anyone's bad side, so they're likely to stay in a relationship long past it's expiration date. If anyone cuts the chord, it'll most likely have to be you. I hate to be the one to break the bad news to you- I'm a pisces, after all. We love to be the good guys.
