BTS is the obsession of thousands of fans on social media. Back during the 2017 Billboard Music Awards, they were the most tweeted about group during the show, which came as a surprise to some Twitter users, but BTS fans were just like, "Uh, DUH." If you aren't familiar with BTS, they're a K-Pop (Korean-Pop) group consisting of seven men, and they won the Top Social Artist award at the BBMAs earlier this year. Considering their massive Twitter presence, that win is no surprise. You might've heard their super popular song "DNA" recently. But what do BTS' "DNA" lyrics mean? More on that soon.

BTS (also known as the Bangtan Boys) consist of seven members: Jungkook, Jimin, V, Suga, Jin, J-Hope, and Rap Monster. When they won the BBMA for Top Social Artist, they beat out stars like Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, and Ariana Grande, so yeah, they're popular. While they aren't nominated for any awards at the upcoming American Music Awards this Sunday, Nov. 19, BTS is set to perform at the AMAs this year, and fans are freaking out. Since there's a big chance they'll perform "DNA" at the AMAs, let's break down what the "DNA" lyrics mean, shall we?

The English translation of BTS' "DNA" lyrics go:

I knew you from first sight. As if we have been calling for each other. The DNA in my veins tells me. You’re the one I’ve been searching for.
Our meeting is a mathmatical formula. Religious commandments, law of the universe. The proof of fate that has been given to me. You are the source of my dreams. Take it take it. Destiny’s been chosen to the hand that I extend to you.
Don’t worry love. All of this is not a coincidence. We are totally different baby. The two of us found fate.
From the day the universe was birthed. Over the infinite centuries. In our past lives and probably in our next too. We are together eternally.
All of this is not a coincidence. The two of us found fate, DNA.
I want it this love, I want it real love. I only focus on you. You’re pulling me in a little harder. My DNA wants you from the beginning. This is destiny I love us. We are the only true lovers.
Every time I see her, I’m in shock. It’s fascinating and weird how I can’t breathe. Maybe this is what they say what love is. Because my heart beats for you from the beginning.
Don’t look back. Because we found fate. Don’t regret, baby. Forever, forever, forever, forever. We are together.
Don’t worry, love. All of this is not a coincidence. We are totally different, baby. The two of us found fate.
La la la la la. La la la la la. Because it’s not a coincidence. La la la la la. La la la la la. Because it’s not a coincidence, DNA.

If you somehow made it through listening to that entire song without bopping your head around, I don't know how you're a human because this song is a bop. And as you can tell, it's an upbeat love song aimed at telling the person you love that you were ~meant to be~.

While there's no guarantee they'll be performing "DNA" at the AMAs this Sunday on ABC, their performance is surely going to be a highlight of the night, as the K-Pop genre is famous for its high energy and loyal fanbase. BTS' AMAs performance also marks their U.S. TV performance debut, so it's bound to be legendary. Other performers who are locked in to perform at the 2017 AMAs are Lady Gaga, Nick Jonas, Shawn Mendes, Portugal. The Man, Alessia Cara, Zedd, Florida Georgia Line, Hailee Steinfeld, Alesso, Watt, Imagine Dragons, Khalid, Niall Horan, P!nk, Demi Lovato, Kelly Clarkson, BTS, Christina Aguilera, Selena Gomez, and Diana Ross. DIANA ROSS!!! THE BEYONCÉ BEFORE BEYONCÉ. And Tracee Ellis Ross is hosting. I live.

I'll tell you what I'm not living for, though, and that's the fact that out of about 70 AMA nominees, only five women are nominated in non-gendered categories. Yeah, the full list of AMAs nominations is seriously lacking women. To add insult to injury, the AMAs has a bunch of women set to perform at the AMAs, but they have nominated barely any of them. Lady Gaga is the only female performer who's nominated and performing, and she's only nominated in female categories. Bye.

But let's get back to BTS and how excited their fans are that they're performing at the AMAs.

Uh, yeah, safe to say fans are pumped for BTS to perform at the AMAs. You can watch the 2017 AMAs this Sunday, Nov. 19 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
