Good news from the British royal fam: Princess Beatrice is engaged to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi! The engagement was announced on the Duke of York's website Sept. 26 with a statement that read, "The Duke and Duchess of York are delighted to announce the engagement of Princess Beatrice to Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi."

The post also provided the people with some much needed deets on everything and anything you may have been wondering. "Her Royal Highness and Mr Mapelli Mozzi became engaged while away in Italy earlier this month," they wrote. "Edo designed a ring in collaboration with the British jewellery designer Shaun Leane. The wedding will take place in 2020. Further details will be announced in due course."

Ah, an Italian engagement with a custom ring. Sounds nothing short of delightful, if you ask me.

The announcement also shared commentary from Beatrice and Edoardo, themselves. “We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement. We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married," they wrote. "We share so many similar interests and values and we know this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.”

Beatrice's mom and dad, The Duke and Duchess of York, also included their own warm wishes for the newly engaged couple. “We are thrilled that Beatrice and Edoardo have got engaged, having watched their relationship develop with pride," they wrote. "We are the lucky parents of a wonderful daughter who has found her love and companion in a completely devoted friend and loyal young man. We send them every good wish for a wonderful family future.”

Edoardo's mom and dad, Nikki Williams-Ellis and Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi also popped in to share their congratulatory message. "We are truly delighted about Edoardo and Beatrice’s engagement. Our family has known Beatrice for most of her life," they wrote. "Edo and Beatrice are made for each other, and their happiness and love for each other is there for all to see. They share an incredibly strong and united bond, their marriage will only strengthen what is already a wonderful relationship.”

Beatrice's sister, Princess Eugenie, took to Instagram to share her own photos of the engagement and a super nice message to her older sister. In the caption she wrote:

Beabea - wow! I'm so happy for you my dearest big sissy and dear Edo. It's been a long time coming and you two are meant to be.

Check out the adorable newlyweds looking happy as ever in the photos shot by Eugenie here:

Edoardo also shared the news on Instagram alongside a super mushy caption penned for his wife:

You will never be alone my love, my heart is your home. Hand in hand, today, tomorrow and forever.

According to USA Today, Beatrice's engagement to Edoardo marks a couple of firsts for the royal family. Because Edoardo has a child named Wolfie from a previous relationship with American architect and designer Dara Huang, this will be the first time one of Queen Elizabeth's grandchildren marry someone with a child born outside of the royal marriage. Second, because Dara is of Chinese descent, this will mark the royal family's first mixed-race step-child (Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's son Archie is the family's first American, mixed-race child born into the family).

Congrats to the happy couple! Here's to a lifetime of breaking tradition and following hearts.
