Guy Shuts Down Anti-Gay Subway Preacher With 'Willy Wonka' Song (Video)

by Adam Pliskin

Commuting on the subway in New York can be a pain in the ass.

It can be especially stressful if your commute has a homophobic preacher shouting hateful nonsense during your train ride.

One M train passenger decided to take matters into his own hands in order to shut up the anti-gay mouthpiece.

This brave soul began singing "I've Got a Golden Ticket" from "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory" in order to drown out the hate speech.

I'm not sure why this guy picked that song, but it worked well and the whole train applauded his valiant efforts.

He turned a bad situation into a light-hearted moment of song and dance.

Apparently, after the video cut to black, the NYPD got on the train and escorted the preacher off.

My faith in humanity has been momentarily restored.
