Guy Films His Rescued Great Dane Puppy In Heartwarming Time-Lapse Video

Pegasus the Great Dane was special from the beginning.

When Dave Meinert purchased the puppy from a backyard breeder, he was warned the dog would always be sick because she's a "double-merle."

The Merle gene, responsible for pigmentation, can cause ocular or auditory problems in dogs -- especially those, like Pegasus, who have two copies of the gene.

The filmmaker set out to record his daily activities with the gangly dog, capturing an incredible time-lapse video of Pegasus growing up.

Although the dog has a few health problems, she grew into quite the best friend -- Meinert saw to that.
