Man Eats His First Burger After Wrongfully Serving 36 Years In Prison (Video)

by Emily Arata

For 36 years, a guiltless Michael Hanline sat in prison and thought about the man he never murdered.

This past November, Hanline finally walked free.

An emotional video released by the California Innocence Project, a legal program designed to reexamine questionable sentences, shows Hanline's first moments out of jail.

His team members order him a half-pound burger with all the fixings and sit back to watch the newly released man relish the taste.

After the longest wrongful confinement in California history, Hanline is finally free to live. And the California Innocence Project will keep fighting for the rights of men and women like him.
