Idiot Gets Arrested After Posting His Bank Robbery On Instagram

by Emily Arata

Instagram is best reserved for snapshots of food or picturesque sunsets, not bank robberies.

Virginia's WTKR reports a local 23-year-old Virginia Beach man was arrested after uploading a photo of his robbery note – requesting $150,000 in bonds – and two subsequent videos to Instagram.

It took police a reported 20 minutes to track down both him and the money, which was allegedly stored in a gym bag.

The man is Dominyk Antonio Alfonseca, and he told media he didn't realize he was stealing anything because he asked for the cash instead of demanding it.

He continued,

She could have said no, and I could have left.

The suspect told a reporter from WAVY,

I videotaped it. If it was a robbery, I don't think I would videotape it, post the picture of the letter and do that all to come to jail.

Alfonseca, a self-described rap artist, also reportedly requested shoutouts to Michelle Obama and Justin Bieber, among others.

Alfonseca first uploaded a photo of his alleged robbery note.

He filmed himself passing the note across the counter.

Alfonseca rationalized his alleged crime in a video interview with a WAVY reporter.
