The father of Islamic State militant Jihadi John has wished death upon his sadistic murderer of a son.
According to the Telegraph, 51-year-old Jassem Emwazi has not been at work since finding out his oldest son, Mohammed, is the masked executioner who has personally executed several Westerners on video.
A colleague who works with Emwazi at a supermarket in Kuwait said that the father cried in agony when he revealed the reason for his absence.
Abu Meshaal said,
Emwazi then told Meshaal that Mohammed had called him from Turkey in 2013 to receive a blessing from his parents before embarking on a life of jihad.
Meshaal quoted Emwazi's reply to the call:
He added that Emwazi is now afraid to leave his home, even to pray at a mosque, due to the shame his son has caused him.
A cousin of Jihadi John who lives in Kuwait is also looking forward to his relative's death, Daily Mail reports.
The anonymous cousin said,
Jassem Emwazi was recently questioned by Kuwaiti authorities for two to three hours before being cleared of connections to terrorism.
He was described as being in "state of shock" and appeared emotionless as he spoke to his lawyer.
Jihadi John's mother, Ghania, is said to have instantly recognized her son when she heard him speak in his first execution video.
The BBC reports both parents to have been taken to a safe house.
Mohammed Emwazi, 26, is thought to have been radicalized after being denied entry to his native country of Kuwait, where he had a job and a fiancée waiting for him, for unspecified reasons.
He has beheaded numerous hostages of the Islamic State on video including American journalists David Foley and Steven Sotloff.
