Stoners, Rejoice: 'High There!' Is New Tinder-Like App For Smokers

Dating can be hard if you smoke pot.

Everything seems to be going right until you bring up your herbal habit, and then your date vanishes like a puff of smoke.

These frustrations are now a thing of the past thanks to High There!, a free dating app exclusively for stoners.

Users make brief profiles much like Tinder, pressing "next" to pass a profile and "connect" to send an invitation.

But the creators of High There! are well aware of how different two stoners can be in terms of smoking tools and the activities they like to engage in under the influence.

So the app matches users based on their smoking tools along with the level of energy they usually have after a typical session.

Blunt smokers won't get matched with vaporizer aficionados, and those who like to take walks won't be stuck with video game addicts.

High There! CEO Todd Mitchem told Fast Company that he made the app after marijuana ruined yet another prospective romance.

He said,

I hated dating on other sites and apps because as soon as the idea of my cannabis consumption came up — date over. I actually walked out of a date (after paying of course) and said to myself, that's it. Weeding out the Ms. Wrong from Ms. Right was complex. Selfishly I hope this helps others like me.

The app is also for people who want a new friend to smoke with or have just moved to a new area and are looking for a good dispensary.

Mitchem told FastCo in an email,

That cancer patient who needs friends and support, the guy who lands in Denver and does not know where people go to buy great products legally, they can also connect. Just the other day I connected with a dude and talked back and forth for a while about life, weed, and built a friendship.

Mitchem stresses "legally" because the app is only available in the 23 states that have legalized medical marijuana.

Anyone who tries to sign up in the other states will be locked out, according to Mashable.

But Mitchem says these states will have the app as soon as new laws are passed.

The same goes for other countries, most notably Canada.

High There! can currently be downloaded on Android and is expected to make its debut in Apple's App Store within the next few days.
