This Cartoon Shows What Media Is Getting Wrong About Charleston Shooting

While the gun smoke has barely settled at the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, questions of how the media has classified the shooter, Dylann Roof, have been raised.

Certain media outlets are reporting that the shooting, despite the fact that Roof announced when he entered the church that he was there "to shoot black people," was motivated by a mental illness and not racism.

One cartoon tweeted by Ahmed Shihab-Eldin, an Emmy-nominated journalist and news producer, summed up his opinion on that problem:
