Abandoned Kitten And Puppy Become The Most Adorable Best Friends Ever (Photos)

by Gillian Fuller

The beginning of Chip and Adele's young lives was not easy.

Chip, a 5-week-old Chihuahua, was abandoned by his human family. Adele, a 4-week-old kitten, was abandoned by her feline family.

On March 20, both were brought into Operation Kindness, a no-kill animal shelter in Texas, just north of Dallas.

That day, both of their lives took a turn for the better.

Because they arrived on the same day, the shelter's staff decided to pair the babies together in the same home.

According to foster mom Natalie Buxton, upon meeting one another, the unlikely pair “instantly bonded and became sweet friends.”

They're so close, Buxton realized after just six days that when they're ready, the pair will have to be adopted together.

Because they're both so young, they'll have to stay with Buxton for another five weeks at a minimum.

She says,

A puppy and kitten that age are much, much too young to be in an animal shelter. Without a foster home, they wouldn't have a chance.

After Chip and Adele get all of their shots and are old enough to be spayed and neutered, they'll be put up for adoption as an adorable, tiny pair.

A local photographer who volunteers for the shelter took pictures of the two cuties to prepare for their adoption. The hope is the photos will appeal to prospective parents and help the homeless animals get adopted quicker.

Until then, Chip and Adele's friendship will continue to be documented on Facebook and YouTube.

Their Facebook page already has more than 20,000 likes, so it's unlikely it'll take long for the pair to get adopted when they're ready.

This is Adele, the 4-week-old rescue kitty.

And this is Chip, the 5-week-old Chihuahua pup.

They only met six days ago at Operation Kindness.

But as you can see, they're already BFFFL (best furry friends for life).

The tiny babies are living at a foster home until they're old enough to be adopted.

And when they do, they'll be adopted together.

They're major snugglers.

Chip is "sweet and laid back," while Adele is a hyper ball of energy.

When they met, they "instantly bonded."

Who says dogs and cats can't be friends?

Not these guys!
