5-Year-Old Boy Finds A Rolling Camera Hidden In A Starbucks Bathroom

by Sean Levinson

A cell phone camera facing a toilet was found in the bathroom of a California Starbucks.

According to Daily Mail, the phone was discovered in the Lancaster coffee shop last Thursday after a 5-year-old boy finished using the single-occupancy bathroom at around 10:30 am.

His mother told KTLA she went in after and found her son looking curiously at the sink.

She said,

I asked him what what was wrong and he said, 'Mommy, why is there a phone under there?' My skin kinda began to crawl.

The cell phone was supported by paper towels, and its camera had been positioned to film people using the toilet.

She took a picture of the device and brought it to the attention of numerous Starbucks employees, who immediately called the sheriff's department.

The woman, who asked to remain anonymous, added,

It had taken some work to get it to stand... so I could tell it had been placed there purposefully.

Responding sheriff's deputies confirmed the camera had been rolling when it was found.

Lt. Joseph Fender told KTLA investigators are studying surveillance footage to determine the source of the camera.

Starbucks released a statement to the local news outlet that said,

We are disturbed by this incident and take our obligation to provide a safe environment for our customers and partners (employees) very seriously.

Where the cell phone video was being sent to and how long it had been rolling remains unknown.
