74-Year-Old Man Has Written His Wife 10,000 Love Letters Over 40 Years

When it comes to love, 74-year-old Bill Bresnan is an expert.

He's spent nearly 40 years of marriage writing love letters to his wife Kirsten, ABC reports.

Since 1974, the Toms River, New Jersey couple filed away an estimated 10,000 of Bresnan's notes.

The pair, who met at a professional class Bill taught, commuted back and forth on the Long Island Railroad together.

Instead of occupying himself with books or newspapers, Bresnan takes the time to scrawl a short note to Kirsten each day.

And, as the couple became more serious about one another, those notes became cards and letters.

Bresnan's advice to the modern couple? Turn off your iPhone and start talking.
