Working This Type Of Job Can Actually Be Super Harmful To Your Brain

A study performed in Sweden — a country known primarily for selling furniture laced with relationship-destroying kryptonite — says that you should stop working too early or too late.

Yup, Swedish science says that being boring and working from 9 to 5 is the safest bet for your brain.

In fact, working late into the night or too early in the morning was shown to actually cause cognitive impairment.

So, basically,

The early worm gets the cognitive impairment.

They believe that the issue boils down to your biological clock, which is disrupted by irregular work hours. It all comes down to sleep.

Essentially, working late into the night and early in the morning makes it more difficult for you to fall into a deep sleep. And if you disrupt your sleep schedule, your brain suffers.

Plus, it will continue to suffer the longer you do keep interfering with its natural cycles of rest and activity.

The troubling thing is that your habit of working late into the night and early in the morning can have a really long lasting impact on your memory, motor skills and problem-solving skills.

The study showed that it takes around five years of reverting to a 9 to 5 work schedule for the cognitive abilities of this experiment to return to normal levels.

So, now that you know all that, go ahead and continue doing whatever you want.

I've been working deep into the night for my whole life. Because I've done my own study, and it's called this: fuck bedtime.
