Woman Finished The Marathon With A Medal And An Adorable Marriage Proposal

Instagram

My heart is so full right now.

A woman running the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon on Sunday was proposed to at the end of the race, and I literally can't handle the cuteness.

According to PopSugar, Charlotte Haigh's boyfriend got down on one knee at the finish line and asked her the big question.

No, the question wasn't "Hey, great job! Do you want some water?"

It was "Hey, will you marry me?"

YUP. I'm going to go crawl into a hole until I find someone who will do the same thing for me.

She said yes!! We had a proposal at the #tcsnycmarathon finish line pic.twitter.com/U9pE1Nc2ZK — TCS NYC Marathon (@nycmarathon) November 6, 2016

Could you imagine? The last thing I'd be thinking about after running a marathon is getting married, but I guess that was the point of the surprise.

Kudos, dude!

Really though, if you know me at all, you know I'm not a fan of running. But I AM a hopeless romantic and New York City resident. Therefore, the footage of this proposal is making me want to live vicariously through Charlotte.

So much sweat and tears. They're good tears, though. Congrats, you two!

To make things even CUTER – it's possible, I swear – Haigh tweeted about the dreamlike proposal and her plans for the night.

Needless to say, I'm a little jealous... mostly because pizza was involved.

Apparently, she wrote,

Today, I ran 26.2 miles. And got engaged to the love of my life. Now, I get to go eat pizza and drink beer with my family and best NYC friends.

Now, I'm crying.

Charlotte, definitely hold on to this one. Any dude who will love you this much after you run almost 27 miles is definitely a keeper.

Also, if he has any single friends, feel free to send them my way.

PS: I hope you guys enjoyed some authentic NYC pizza. After a day like that, you definitely deserved it.
