Today's tragedy at Umpqua Community College raises concern over gun laws on college campuses.

According to Oregon Live, students presenting the required paperwork and other certain requirements are able to carry guns on campus at the school in Southwest Oregon as per state laws regarding concealed weapons.

This was not always the case, as per the Oregon University System's ban of guns on college campuses, but in 2011, the Oregon Court of Appeals overturned this decision and concealed guns became permitted accessories at public schools.

Certain colleges do maintain restrictions on guns in specific campus buildings.

With at least 10 deaths confirmed thus far in today's UCC shooting, lawyers and lawmakers may consider attempting to create tighter restrictions hereafter.
