This Brave Congressman Just Told Trump To 'Shove It Up His Ass'

Filemon Vela Jr, a Democratic congressman from Texas, is clearly not a fan of Donald Trump.

He wrote a scathing open letter to the presumptive GOP nominee on Monday morning, making his feelings on the real estate mogul abundantly clear.

The letter stated,

Mr. Trump, you're a racist and you can take your border wall and shove it up your ass.

Vela was responding to Trump's incendiary rhetoric surrounding Mexicans, particularly in relation to immigration.

Trump began his campaign by referring to Mexican immigrants as "rapists," "drug dealers" and "killers."

Throughout his campaign, Trump has frequently called for both deporting all of the 11.2 million undocumented immigrants in the US and for a massive wall to be built along the US-Mexico border.

Vela would evidently like Trump to take this wall and put it where the sun don't shine. Sounds painful.

In his letter, Vela also addressed recent remarks Trump made regarding Federal District Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who is presiding over two class-action lawsuits against Trump University. The Texas congressman wrote,

Before you dismiss me as just another 'Mexican,' let me point out that my great-great grandfather came to this country in 1857, well before your own grandfather. His grandchildren (my grandfather and his brothers) all served our country in World War I and World War II. His great-grandson, my father, served in the U.S. Army and, coincidentally, was one of the first 'Mexican' federal judges ever appointed to the federal bench.

During a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, the New York billionaire and presidential candidate essentially argued Curiel's Mexican heritage makes him inherently biased against him. In Trump's words,

I'm building a wall, it's an inherent conflict of interest.

Curiel was born in Indiana, and his parents are Mexican immigrants.

Trump has been widely condemned, including by fellow Republicans, because of his comments.

Vela is hardly alone in his outrage against Trump, but his comments toward the real estate mogul were definitely among the most colorful.
