Drunk Customer Leaves Insanely Large Tip, Then Asks For It Back The Next Day

Delighted waiters and waitresses thought they'd served some absolute baller when he left a $1,088 tip.

Staff at Thailicious in Edgewater, Colorado, immediately brought the big bucks to owner Bee Anantatho, who thought it was too good to be true. She told her staff to hold on to the money in the unlikely case a mistake was made.

Alas, she was right.

Turns out the guy was so hammered he accidentally left the wrong tip. Bee guessed the customer thought the $100 bills were $1 bills.

He returned the next day -- tail between legs -- to reclaim the huge tip, which would have been shared between staff.

Bee told The Denver Post,

He said, 'I'm sorry, I was drunk.' He didn't know he put all the money he had in the checkbook.

The customer left a cool $40 for the tip instead. Even though Bee was disappointed for her staff, she thought she handled the embarrassing situation about as well as she could, telling The Denver Post, "I think he will come back."
