Texas woman Lesia Pettijohn gave birth to a 10-pound baby boy in her car on the way to the hospital.
The 22-year-old mother from Lake Jackson, Texas was on her way to a Houston birthing center when she realized she wasn't going to make it in time to give birth there.
According to the video, Lesia and her husband were in the car for 45 minutes before filming started, and only about one minute into the longer version of the video, Pettijohn's water breaks.
However, sh*t really got real when she realized the baby's head was coming out.
Although her husband offered to pull over and help her, she told him to keep driving.
Pettijohn told KTRK,
Once he was out I was like, OK well, I gotta push the rest of him out and then I've gotta grab him and figure out how to wrap him up. And for awhile, I'm [like] 'what do I do, what do I do?' Because I'm trying to think, 'What can I wrap him in? Well, my shirt is pretty long I will wrap him up in that.'
As if it wasn't dramatic enough, Lesia and her husband, John, didn't have cell phone service to call for help during the birth.
I was probably freaking out way more than I should have. But, I really didn't want to have him in the car. I was scared. I didn't know if he'd be breathing OK.
Truthfully, I can't believe she wasn't freaking out more. I can't imagine finding myself in a situation more stressful than giving birth to a baby in a moving car.
But after pushing baby Josiah out, she was able to get him crying and was instantly overjoyed.
Luckily, the couple also has two daughters, so they knew how to take care of the newborn baby.
After the nerve-racking birth, John jokingly said,
So, I wonder if we still have to pay for using birth center.
And he later told KTRK,
He's gonna be famous before he even knows his own name. It's in Norway. It's amazing. I can't believe so many people want to see something like that.
Well, I can't believe it, either. I don't think I've ever experienced more stress than watching this video.
