The Video For One Direction's 'Perfect' Is Finally Here

by Gillian Fuller

It's been a long four days for One Direction fans.

Earlier this week, the Brit boy band made headlines with the release of “Perfect,” the third single off of their upcoming album, "Made In The A.M."

The track, which bears obvious similarities to Taylor Swift's “Style,” is rumored to be about Harry Styles' romance with Swift, whom the One Directioner dated briefly back in 2012.

Though the evidence to support this theory is overwhelming, the boys of 1D have yet to address the rumors in any capacity, leaving fans to agonize over whether or not Haylor was really the inspiration behind the new song.

Now, it seems, we may finally have our answer.

One Direction released the music video for “Perfect” earlier this evening, and while it lacks any glaringly obvious nods to Swift, it's pretty obvious the track is about Styles' relationship with the famed pop star.

The black-and-white video has all the nostalgia of a former love affair, and the hotel room it's shot in — a nod, perhaps, to where Haylor had their romantic rendezvous — recalls those late-night dates Swift sings so fondly about in “Style.”

The most telling sign of the song's true meaning, however, are the sweeping, dramatic panoramas of New York City, the place Taylor has called home since March 2014.

Coincidence? Maybe. But we think it's pretty clear: Styles wrote "Perfect" for Swift.
