Sia's Newest Song 'Big Girls Cry' Is A Testament To The Strength Of All Women (Listen)

by Alexia LaFata

Sia, the musical genius songwriter behind "Diamonds," "Titanium," "Pretty Hurts" and her recent hit "Chandelier," released a new song today called "Big Girls Cry," and it literally sent chills down my spine.

It opens up with a bit of a JoJo "Leave (Get Out)" -esque introduction and quickly turns into a beautiful ballad about broken hearts and loneliness. Sia laments about being strong amidst bouts of tears and reminds us that even tough girls feel sad sometimes -- and that's OK.

Her familiar velvety voice is deeper and more soothing in "Big Girls Cry," a stark contrast to "Chandelier" where she nearly shrieks at times to hit some ridiculous high notes.

Sia's new album, 1000 Forms of Fear, comes out July 8. You can pre-order it on iTunes for $7.99 for a limited time only. In the meantime, check out this incredible ballad.
