DJ Tragically Shot And Killed After Refusing To Play A Song Request

by Adam Pliskin

A DJ in India has been shot and killed after reportedly refusing to play a song from a Bollywood film at a party. The incident took place in Uttar Pradesh, an area in northern India.

The DJ was a 32-year-old man named Arun Kumar Valmiki.

Valmiki was DJing the party of the daughter of a local businessman when another man requested he play the song "Tamanche pe disco" from the 2013 film "Bullett Raja."

When Valmiki refused the request, the assailant, known only as Ashu, allegedly shot Valmiki in the chest. Ashu then left the scene of the crime.

Apparently, it is not uncommon for people in India to shoot guns in the air during celebrations, and that could explain the presence of the firearm at the party.
