The Six People You Need To Build An Empire

by Ryan Babikian

The importance of the company you keep could not be highlighted anymore at Elite Daily. Yet, it is more than just like-minded friends with similar goals. To attain the highest levels of success, there are six unique archetypes of people that you need supporting, influencing, and challenging you everyday.

Without further adieu, here are the six critical people that you need in your corner - each playing a different role - if you are aspiring to be great.

1. The Motivator:

When you oversleep that one morning, this is the guy that gives you shit for it. He reminds you of what is important and ensures you give 100%. He is the most honest and trustworthy of your entourage.

Essentially, it is someone who pushes you, who makes you think, who motivates you to get up and go, and try, and make things happen. Often, the Motivator will tap into that "thing you want most in life" in order to push you to greatness. You want to keep this person energized, and enthusiastic. This is the voice of inspiration.

2. The #1 Fan:

This person is your number one fan - your strongest supporter - and a devout admirer of who you are and what you have accomplished. It can be easy to take this person for granted. Don't. Ensure that they are rewarded and engaged. You may at times feel like you are superior to this person, but you should always appreciate their compassion for you.

When everyone else hates you or is disappointed in you, this person still thinks your the greatest, most talented person alive. This is someone who is most appreciated when times are tough and you are feeling insecure. This is the voice of encouragement.

3. The Skeptic:

The Skeptic is the guy that is never satisfied with the A-. He is only satisfied with perfection, but only because he knows you are capable of it. Because of this, this person always plays the devil’s advocate, who asks the hard questions and sees problems before they arise.

The Skeptic will be one of the most intelligent of your friends and is well-versed in a variety of topics. You need this person’s perspective and you should always consult them when contemplating big life choices. They are looking out for you, and want you to be as safe as you are successful. This is the voice of reason.

4. The Doer:

This is the loud and belligerent voice that demands you gets things done. Like the Motivator, the Doer is a man of action. This strong quality is a positive influence on you: the more you are around the doer, the more things you get done.

This person is the steward of momentum, making sure deadlines are met and goals are reached. By challenging inertia, the Doer makes sure you are always moving closer to success. This is the voice of progress.

5. The Connector:

This person can help you find new avenues and new allies. This person breaks through roadblocks into finds ways to make magic happen. The Connector delivers when no one else can. You need this person to reach people and places you can’t.

When you surround yourself with a Connector, you have access to their valuable network and wealth of resources. Take advantage of this, as most people aren't fortunate enough to have a Connector in their inner circle. This is the voice of cooperation and community.

6. The Elder Statesman:

This is your mentor, you hero, your North Star. This is the person who you seek to emulate. This is your guiding entity, someone whose presence acts as a constant reminder that you, too, can do amazing things.

They have attained success in their own way, shape, and form. From their experiences, they will guide you through some of the most challenging and most rewarding times of your life. You want to make this person proud. This is the voice of guidance and expertise.
