Earlier this month, Elite Daily had the privilege of sitting down with the Editor-in-Chief and Founder of the Huffington Post, Arianna Huffington.

Huffington's 14th book, "Thrive: The Third Metric to Redefining Success and Creating a Life of Well-Being, Wisdom, and Wonder," was inspired by her collapse nearly seven years ago from exhaustion and sleep-deprivation. The fall served as a major wake up call, encouraging her to change her ways from barely getting rest to now sleeping from 7 to 8 hours a night.

While she embraces the significance of technology, Huffington feels that as a whole, we take better care of our smartphones than we do of ourselves. She stresses the importance of unplugging and recharging the body during off hours and weekends.

She has even installed sleep pods within the Huffington Post office where employees can rest for a period during the work day. Listen to her passionately speak on the subject of sleep and check out her inspiring book.
