Major technology advancements are made every day.

The most recent and most mind-blowing concept is all thanks to the folks over at Land Rover. It turns out the company has figured out a way for drivers to control their vehicles using a remote app on their smartphones.

In a recent video uploaded to YouTube by Land Rover, we're shown a demonstration of the breakthrough technology paired with a Range Rover Sport.

According to TechCrunch, this feature will allow drivers to control the SUV without even being in it. The app gives drivers a top speed of 4 mph and allows them to steer and accelerate as long as they're within 10 feet of the vehicle.

As of now, the autonomous car technology is in its early stages of development -- the English automaker plans to create a voice command feature for it, too.

Land Rover is working on autonomous car technology, enabling drivers to operate their vehicles from the outside.

The vehicle would be configured to your smartphone, where you'd access an app to control its movement.

It's perfect when you're making your way through tight gaps and over rough terrains.
