Guy Epically Saves Drone From Landing In Ocean After Its Batteries Die (Video)

by Robert Anthony

More drones, more problems -- especially if you own one.

This isn't to take away from how useful they can be; filmmakers are able to capture aerial shots without having to rent a helicopter for an hour, hoping to film the money shots in a race against time.

Daredevils like surfers are able to capture their moves from a breathtaking bird's-eye view. And real estate agents are able to give swift, visual tours of lavish properties using drones.

These things are awesome -- but if you have your own, you're probably going to find yourself in a few sticky situations.

For example, the time one man's drone went AWOL and slammed into a garage door. Or more recently, Ryan Chatfield's exhilarating experience.

In video uploaded to YouTube by the videographer, his drone's batteries die.

At that point, the drone slowly begins to make its descent back down to Earth. Chatfield hauls ass toward the drone before it falls into the ocean, which would have cost him a few hundred, maybe even a few thousand, dollars.

But that wasn't an option.

Check out his amazing save in the video above.
