Holiday Bagels Are The Link Between Hanukkah And Christmas The World Needs

Rainbow Christmas bagels are officially the only thing that can put me in the holiday spirit.

I'm Jewish. I'm like VERY Jewish. I went to Jewish school, I lived in Israel at one point and have been to three separate Shabbat dinner meals with Joe Liberman.

This is what we call "Hitting a Sandy Koufax Triple Play" where I'm from.

While there are a lot of perks to being Jewish (mostly summer camp related), there are a lot of downsides as well. The biggest one being that in December it's very hard to get in the holiday spirit.

Christmas was just not a thing when I was growing up. And yes, as much as Chanukah is fun it is not nearly as shiny and festive as everything related to Jesus' birthday.

Thankfully, there is now a common bridge

I present to you the Christmas bagel.

Part holly jolly green/red/white swirl, part traditional Jewish cuisine. This seasonally appropriate cultural mashup could be the very bridge that unites our two cultures.

The bagels are the creation of Square Bar, a coffee and tea restaurant based out of San Diego that is notorious for making insane creations like the rainbow christmas bagel.

For instance, here is a full cake made out of just crepes and frosting.

I meannnnnnn, LOOOK AT THIS THING.

It doesn't stop there though.

If a bunch of crepe in your mouth seems like a bad time, for some dumb reason, then you can always opt for an ice cream macaroon sandwich.

Or a fruity pebbles ice cream sandwich.

Or a whatever the hell this is.

There is always the option for pizza bagels if your sweet tooth is on hiatus.

I don't know why that would be the case though. It makes no sense to have that tooth go on hiatus when GEMS like this are being whipped up in front of you.

BRB, moving to San Diego.
