Sam Smith Had The Most Amazing Response To A Homophobic Internet Troll

Sam Smith gave a clinic to his followers on how to properly deal with Internet hate.

The 23-year-old English singer/songwriter posted a powerful picture to his Instagram account showing a homophobic anti-Sam Smith page that had been created.

Sam captioned the photo with a classy example of what it means to take the high road when dealing with awful Web insults. He wrote,

This genuinely doesn't offend me, coz I'm way too tick skinned when it comes to this kind of shit. BUT I just wanted to share this with everyone, so you can see how homophobia is still SO PRESENT in our society!!

Unsurprisingly, the comment section of the post has been flooded with people congratulating Smith for his maturity in handling the hate and reaffirming their love for the music star.

Instagram user aaasmommy responded to Smith's photo, saying,

Jealousy is SO PRESENT... To hell with them. They'll never know what it means to be free and you are loved by all of the right people. ♡♡♡

Smith came out to fans in the summer of 2014 during an interview with FADER in which he admitted to writing In the Lonely Hour for a guy he liked.

In the interview, Smith talked about his goal of making it normal to talk about whom you love no matter who that person is.
