In Hollywood, you never really know who's going to steal the limelight next.
It could be Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, a politician or an aspiring child actor.
And, if you know anything about Hollywood, it's all about getting in with the right people. For a little kid named Isaiah Tootoosis, that person is Leonardo DiCaprio.
Tootoosis' aunt, Barb, decided to send her nephew to an audition in Calgary, Canada for the movie "The Revenant," starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
After the 15-minute audition, it wasn't too long before Isaiah was granted the role of DiCaprio's son in the upcoming film.
The First Nations actor had no clue who DiCaprio was at first, but during a recent interview with CBC News, Isaiah revealed,
It was so fun. [DiCaprio] was real nice.
Isaiah, whose great-grandfather is well-known actor Gordon Tootoosis, wasn't too happy in the beginning. After getting the part, he was scheduled for a nine-day shoot that required him to wake up at the crack of dawn.
If you know anything about being a little kid, the last thing you want to do is wake up at 4 in the morning.
However, Barb Tootoosis explained to her nephew acting was a job, and this opportunity would only come once in a lifetime.
She then agreed to gift him a toy at the end of every day he was required to be on set. Sounds like the kid's already living the lavish life to me!
When asked how he feels about acting, Isaiah said,
It's fun. I get to pretend. They treated me so nice. I went swimming every day.
Must be nice... So nice Isaiah plans to make more movies and maybe stick in Hollywood long enough to "get a big house" in the affluent Los Angeles neighborhood "someday."
After meeting Isaiah, the film's director, Alejandro González Iñárritu, appointed an acting coach to assist Isaiah as he and his family continue to try and establish his name in the film industry.
Keep an eye out for this little guy on the big screen!
Meet Isaiah Tootoosis, a 7-year-old child actor who landed a role in a new film starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
Isaiah was given the opportunity after his aunt, Barb, signed him up for an audition in Calgary.
After blowing everyone away with his natural acting ability, Isaiah was granted the role of DiCaprio's son in "The Revenant."
From there, Isaiah was booked for a nine-day shoot. At the end of each shoot, his aunt had a toy for him to keep him motivated.
