A 'Wedding Crashers' Sequel Is Coming, So Stage 5 Clingers Prepare Yourselves

If you're still quoting "Wedding Crashers" in 2016, I have news for you: You are a Stage Five Clinger.

But you know what? As Isla Fisher knows, sometimes clinging pays off, because according to her, a "Wedding Crashers" sequel is on the way.

The 40-year-old British-Australian actress broke the news on Thursday while on the "Today" show promoting her upcoming film with Amy Adams, "Nocturnal Animals."

Fisher said,

I bumped into Vince Vaughn at a party and he said that apparently we're going to be making a sequel. So I'm really excited to see what happened to Gloria.

Fisher played Gloria in the 2005 comedy, a woman who becomes obsessed with Vince Vaughn's character, Jeremy.

That seems like pretty big news to drop casually and confidently on daytime television, especially when this is the first news the public's heard of a sequel.

Fisher seemed to realize this because she backtracked a little, going on to say she didn't think anything was official.

When asked if it was a "done deal," Fisher said,

Well, I don't know about that. I shouldn't really announce it on morning television. But apparently there's some talk of it, which is fun.

Well, there's at least been enough talk for Vince Vaughn to more or less confirm the news! And it sounds like at least he and Gloria are in!

So it seems like the creators of "Wedding Crashers" are the real Stage Five Clingers.

A "Wedding Crashers" sequel wouldn't be the first time co-stars Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson reunited.

The pair recently starred in the 2013 comedy "The Internship," though that film did not see near as much success as "Wedding Crashers."

As for whether the sequel stays with the original film's director David Dobkin or writers Steve Faber and Bob Fisher remains to be seen.

There is one thing we do know for sure, though: Crab cakes and football is what Maryland does.
