Coldplay Set To Headline The 2016 Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show

by Kendall Wood

After much speculation, it's now being reported Coldplay will perform at the 2016 Super Bowl Halftime Show. According to The Wall Street Journal, Bruno Mars and Beyoncé will also make guest appearances.

Just last week, Coldplay released "Hymn for the Weekend" featuring Beyoncé, on which 3-year-old Blue Ivy Carter is also featured.

Katy Perry owned the stage at the 2015 Super Bowl Halftime Show, where Lenny Kravitz, Missy Elliott and Left Shark all contributed to an epic, pyrotechnic performance.

Before Perry signed on, the National Football League asked several candidates to play on stage at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona that year. Coldplay and Rihanna were among them.

Coldplay is set to release its seventh album, A Head Full of Dreams, on December 4, just before their Super Bowl 50 halftime performance at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California on February 7.

Tune in to this Thursday's NFL matchup between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions, when the league is scheduled to officially announce one of the halftime acts.
