This 'Pirates Of The Caribbean' Actor Is Fighting ISIS In Syria

by Adam Pliskin

Michael Enright is a British actor who was in projects such as "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest," "Knight and Day" and "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."

He is currently fighting against the Islamic State in Syria.

The 51-year-old actor joined the Kurdish People's Protection Units after seeing the atrocities carried out by ISIS in the Middle East; Enright felt a responsibility to "help right a wrong."

He said,

They need to be wiped off completely from the face of this earth. I didn't come here to run, I came here to fight and if I have to die, then I die. I didn't come here to play games.

What's even more amazing about this is it seems Enright has little to no military training or experience with firearms.

Since arriving in Syria, Enright changed his name to Mustafa Michael Ali.

He also didn't tell his friends or loved ones about his choice to fight ISIS until after he made his way to the region.
