Miley Cyrus Dropped Her New Single "Younger Now" And It's So, So Emotional

YouTube

Miley Cyrus dropped her new single, "Younger Now," and the "Younger Now" lyrics will make you rethink all of your life decisions. It seems to be what Cyrus is doing in the song, as the most common lyric in "Younger Now" is "No one stays the same." It looks like Cyrus is following through on her promise that her new album would be more about introspection and unity than partying and breakups that controlled the central theme of Bangerz.

She wants us to know she's changed. And she tells us that from the get go when she opens the song (and the album, since it's the first track on the track list) by saying "Feels like I just woke up / Like all this time I've been asleep / Even though it's not who I am / I'm not afraid of who I used to be." "Younger Now" fits right in with the emotional tone she set with her previous two singles from the "Younger Now" album, "Malibu" and "Inspired." She's been showing us a much more raw side of her throughout all of her recent performances, so this self-reflection/introspection theme in "Younger Now" is a perfect fit with the narrative she's been putting out in the world recently.

Here are the full "Younger Now" lyrics:

Verse 1

Feels like I just woke up Like all this time I've been asleep Even though it's not who I am I'm not afraid of who I used to be

Chorus

No one stays the same (oh, oh) You know what goes up must come down (oh, oh) Change is a thing you can count on (oh, oh) I feel so much younger now (oh, oh)

Verse 2

Feels like I've been living in a dream But never make it to the end My eyes open when they feel the light It's always right before I'm about to scream

Chorus

No one stays the same (oh, oh) You know what goes up must come down (oh, oh) Change is a thing you can count on (oh, oh) I feel so much younger now (oh, oh)

Bridge

What goes up must come down What goes up must come down What goes up must come down What goes up must come down (yeah)

Chorus

No one stays the same (oh, oh) You know what goes up must come down (oh, oh) Change is a thing you can count on (oh, oh) I feel so much younger now (oh, oh)

She's just being Miley! The Younger Now album is set to release Friday, September 29.
