'Bachelor’ Nation Is Freaking Out Over Chris Soules' Arrest In Alleged Hit-And-Run
Former "Bachelor" star Chris Soules was arrested Monday night after an alleged fatal hit-and-run car accident, according to TMZ.
TMZ reports Soules was driving a Chevy pickup truck in Iowa when he allegedly rear-ended a John Deere tractor trailer, causing it to veer off the road and into a ditch around 8:20 pm on Monday night.
A rep for Chris Soules gave Elite Daily a statement, saying,
Chris Soules was involved in an accident Monday evening (April 24) in a rural part of Iowa near his home. He was devastated to learn that Kenneth Mosher, the other person in the accident, passed away. His thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Mosher's family.
The man driving the tractor was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance and reportedly died at the hospital.
Soules reportedly received medical treatment, TMZ reported. Soules has been charged with leaving the scene of a fatal car accident. He is being held on $10,000 bond.
No former contestants from "The Bachelor" or "The Bachelorette" or any ABC representatives have spoken out about the news as of Tuesday afternoon.
Fans of "The Bachelor" have been reacting to the news on Twitter.
Most of them are saddened to hear the news.
Some fans are expressing their anger.
Others are just shocked.
The 35-year-old first gained popularity on Andi Dorfman's season of “The Bachelorette." He came in third place and was later made the Bachelor for season 19.
He proposed to contestant Whitney Bischoff in his hometown in Iowa, but they called off their engagement in 2015. Neither Bischoff nor Dorfman has commented on the news as of yet.
Soules was rumored to be joining the upcoming season of "Bachelor In Paradise."
When asked about the rumors, Soules said,
They called last year and this year. I don't think my schedule will allow it honestly. I don't know. Honestly, it looks like a lot of fun… When I went to be the Bachelor, I went to find a wife and I take this really seriously. I don't wanna go into something like that where I'm disingenuous, you know? … I don't wanna make a fool of myself on national television.
