Alan Thicke's passing has not only been tragic, it's been extremely difficult for his loved ones and fans alike.

We reported earlier how devastated Robin Thicke looked at his father's funeral, and now this statement from Alan Thicke's wife Tanya Callau shows how trying a time this is for the late actor's family.

For the first time since Alan's passing, Tanya spoke out about his death, writing,

It is with gut wrenching sadness and unbelievable grief that I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for the outpouring of love and support during this unimaginable time.

In fact, the entire cast of "Growing Pains" attended his memorial service on Monday, including Leonardo DiCaprio, as well as Bob Saget, Alex Trebek and Bill Maher.

After thanking those who reached out to her and the rest of Alan's family, Tanya Callau went on to say,

Through tears and smiles our dearest of family and friends came together at our home to celebrate the life of my sweet and devoted husband Alan Thicke. Yesterday, along with my step sons and our combined extended family, we laid my beloved husband, soul mate and the patriarch of our family to rest. We ask that you respect our privacy during this time of profound mourning.

Alan passed away after playing hockey with his 19-year-old son Carter. Apparently, Alan told him to "take a shot, kiddo" when the actor was being wheeled away on a stretcher.

"Blurred Lines" singer Robin Thicke previously took to Instagram to post a tribute to his late father, writing,

My father passed away today. He was the best man I ever knew. The best friend I ever had. Let's all rejoice and celebrate the joy he brought to every room he was in. We love you Alan Thicke. Thank you for your love. Love, your grateful son.

Our hearts continue to go out to Alan's family during this tough time.
