Adam Levine has reportedly offered to pay for the funeral of Christina Grimmie, the 22-year-old former contestant of "The Voice" who was shot and killed on Friday.

The slain singer's brother, Marcus Grimmie, wrote in a Facebook post the Maroon 5 singer called his mother to offer to pay for the funeral and her flight.

Marcus wrote,

I found out this morning, that Adam Levine personally called my mother and said he will pay for the funeral and her plane flight, and I was blown away. Now a friend just told me to look at the gofundme page and I see it is at 100k. Words cannot express... literally I have no words.

Levine, who has been a coach on "The Voice" for five years, worked with Grimmie as her coach on the sixth season of the show.

On the day after Grimmie's death, Levine shared his grief on Twitter with a photo of the late singer.

Grimmie's brother also expressed gratitude for the GoFundMe set up by Brian Teefey, Selena Gomez's stepfather and Grimmie's manager since she was 14 years old. So far the campaign has raised over $100,000.

Grimmie was shot and killed by 27-year-old Kevin James Loibl while she was signing autographs after her concert on Friday.
