Geeks Are The New Alpha Males

by Trophy Wife

We all know the type – he is the captain of the football team, homecoming king and voted the most likely to succeed. All the girls were lining up to suck his cock and guys wanted to be his friend.

He had it all – looks, popularity and athletic ability. We all thought that he would end up head of some Fortune 500 company, making 7 figures and living the baller lifestyle.

So, how did this winner end up pumping gas at the local gas station and living on top of his parent’s garage? Four words – he peaked too early.

Guys like this grew up with the ideal that everything will just fall into their laps – they never had to work hard for anything, so they anticipated that once they finished college, top tier firms would come begging at their door. Little did he know that while he was doing keg stands and playing beer pong, the geeks are out there are lining up interviews and locking in high paying jobs in the city.

I’ve dated a lot of men in my time – personal trainers, body builders, entrepreneurs, models, professional sportsmen – you name it, I’ve done it. But at the end of the day, I married a geek. Geeks are my weakness; for some girls, it’s biceps or athletic ability. Bring me a man who can code, recite the periodic table or write complex excel formulas and I’ll drop my panties in an instant.

Look at Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates -- geeks have become the new alpha male and here are the reasons why:

Intelligence

It’s not about who you know, but what you know. Sure, a lot of the times in the business world, it’s ‘you are who you know’ - your social background and connections are handy to get you an interview or a foot in the door. However, connections can only get you so far – your future success is entirely up to you.

In the workplace, IQ matters more than socioeconomic background, and intelligence acts as a better predictor of success. Once you start working, you go wherever your abilities take you and there generally is a direct correlation between intelligence and an upward wage trajectory. Hence, the smarter you are, the more money you’ll make – and who’s smarter than a geek?

Intelligence is a huge turn-on for women – mental stimulation is just as important as physical in our relationships.

Tech Savvy

In today’s society where everyone has an iPhone, iPad, Android or Blackberry surgically attached to their hand at all times, the perception of the "geekie techie" that persisted is fading.

What is emerging is the new belief that geeks are cool. Not only do these geeks make things that society values and depends on, their intelligence and expertise in technology are now celebrated in such things as the Apple Genius Bar.

Ever seen a grown man freak out because their iPhone died and they can’t get their emails or access Facebook? They’re close to hysterical and are dependent on these so called geeks to help them. Oh how the tables have turned…

Humble & Self-Aware

Geeks have had to work hard to get where they – they’ve had to overcome years of emotional and verbal abuse from the cool kids at school and social rejection from every turn. Having to conquer these obstacles give them a sense of appreciation for what they’ve achieved and they rarely take things for granted – a complete contrast to the frat boy douche bags that are out there.

Geeks never apologizes for the way they are – after all, they’ve had years of name-calling and rejection from the cool kids at school to drill it into their heads. They know exactly who they are and stay true to it. In the end, girls want to be with someone who is self aware and appreciates who they are so that in turn, they will do the same for you.

Geeks are great lovers

While they are less experienced sexually when compared to the more popular guys, geeks are generally better in bed because they’re selfless, adventurous and eager to learn. They are great at taking direction and are less self-conscious. Geeks are generally much more open to using gadgets outside of the realm of the office and in the bedroom – which in turn, is a win-win situation for both of you!

So, for all the self proclaimed geeks out there – your time has come! Being a geek pays off in the long run – in today’s environment where every multimillion dollar business is reliant on a computer system, I say all those years of playing with computers puts you at the forefront of all the other candidates out there. The fact that you can spike a football isn’t going to keep anyone’s business afloat.
