Do Your Drinking Habits Affect Your Relationship?

It’s very common for couples to drink together. Whether it be during dinner or out to cocktails with a group of friends. Maybe you even like to share some beers or a bottle of wine on your own, seems normal doesn’t it?

It is normal. In fact, your relationship may suffer if you don’t drink the same amount or with each other. A new study conducted by the Norwegian Institute of Public Health has found that couples that both had moderate alcohol habits were far less likely to split than those in which one was a heavy drinker.

After looking at 20,000 married couples, the highest divorce rate, which was over 25 percent, happened in couples where the husband was a light-drinker and the wife drank a lot more.

Researchers believe that this may have something to do with the fact that there could be a double standard: women who drink too much typically look unladylike in their husband's eyes, while guys who drink to much are more likely to be excused by their wives.

Do you think there could be some validity to this study?
