How Important Is Your First Time?

by Ally Batista

Everyone remembers his or her first time. So much so, that I don’t even have to specify which first time for you to know exactly what I’m talking about.

Some people have extremely romantic first times, others have first times that seem extremely typical and others would rather forget about it completely. Regardless of what your first time was like, does it really matter all that much?

A new study published in the Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy seems to think so. Researchers studied 331 young men and women and found that people who were emotionally and physically satisfied with their first time have more fulfilling sex lives than those who associated losing their virginity with anxiety and negativity.

I could see how this could make sense. I mean, if you’re truly traumatized by your first time, I could understand how you would be anxious about taking part in that activity again.

What do you guys think?
