In It For The Long Haul: 8 Reasons You Should Date Someone With Kids

I think we can agree all people deserve someone who is compatible with them and treats them well.

Therefore, you should not disregard someone because of something foreign to you, such as a child or stepchild.

I know it can be a scary thought for some. But as we gain more knowledge and education over time, we also become wiser.

Being wise is the product of intelligence and experience combined.

That being said, I think as we grow, we become more open to looking for love in other areas. That's why it's important to understand the reality that your best potential mate could be someone with a child.

Being a parent is not that bad.

If you find someone who treats you the best, why not?

It's hard enough to find someone who is what you want, especially if you have unrealistic expectations.

Let's discuss the the pros to dating an individual with a child:

1. Nothing good comes easy.

This is why you sometimes find yourself falling for someone with a child (or "baggage," as some might say).

But it's true. The good ones are never easy to get.

2. It can be fun.

You learn to deal with little people, and you might actually have fun.

Who doesn't have fun playing games or dressing up?

3. They might not want any more kids.

So if you don't want kids, you're good.

4. They are usually more mature.

They have experienced life in multiple ways. This is most likely true due to obvious reasons.

Growing up young can actually be a blessing in some ways. If you plan accordingly, you can still have fun.

5. They are responsible.

You have to give them respect for their ability to man (or woman) up and work hard at taking care of that kid.

This part speaks volumes and catches my attention the most.

I hold high respect for anyone who puts others first.

6. If the child is older, taking care of him or her is not as demanding.

Depending on the age of the kid, you might have it pretty easy. Your significant other can still have plenty of time to spend with you.

If the child is old enough to stay home solo and take care of him or herself, you're good.

7. You could be a positive influence on the child's life.

You might have the influence to raise a good human being and protégé.

This is important because we need more good and responsible people out there.

8. You can show the child that not all people of the opposite sex are assh*les or immature.

Restoring faith is a good reason for either group.

Even if the rugrats get a little sloppy or messy, that is trivial compared to your overall happiness with an individual.

I have dated women with kids, and have really found no difference. I would do it again.

These women know how to take care of things and multitask. They are responsible and hardworking.

I am personally most impressed with their ability to raise a child solo. I find that attractive.

Now, if you are one of those people who never want to date someone like that, this will most likely change in the future. This is especially true if you become a single parent or later realize everyone your age has kids.

This is funny but true. Don't let karma strike back.

Keep this article in mind and be open. If you want your own kids one day, someone who truly cares for you will be open to it, whether you have kids or not.

Our generation wants everything perfect and that's okay. But it's not realistic.

Sometimes, we don't even know what perfect is until we open ourselves up to new experiences.
