Ah, ghosting. It's the dating phenomenon that happens when people are too cowardly to actually end things with the people they've been seeing, so they choose to just… disappear instead.
Ghosters are idiots. But if you've ever been ghosted, know that you're not alone.
In this weekly column, I share a tale of a time a reader was ghosted (with accompanying screenshots) so you can see the last text that was sent or words that were uttered before someone decided to disappear forever. I present to you: Boom, Ghosted.
This week, we have Tracy* who was ghosted by the same guy not once, but twice. Pro tip: The dates are very important in this screenshot.
Here's the backstory she provides us with:
This is a guy I was dating all summer into the fall. He's 24 and working in the area, and I'm a senior in college. The last texts in October I sent probably two days after going out on our latest date. I didn't really like him as much as I thought, but he kept snapping me after not texting me back so I deleted him on [Snapchat]. Then, he texted me this month in the middle of the night ... loser. I was just being friendly, not trying to rekindle anything, yet I got 'ghosted' again, if you can call it that.
Without further ado, here's cold, hard proof of the double ghost.
You read it correctly. This guy just completely ignored her question, then decided it would be totally fine to casually strike up conversation again four months later. Then, he ghosted again. Modern day Casanova, am I right?
So what do you think? Is he a total douche nozzle? Or maybe just a really bad texter? Did someone double ghost you at some point?! Comment your thoughts here and let's chat about it.
