Wine Pairings For Oscar Films

by Ally Batista

If you’re planning on watching the Oscars this Sunday night, you may as well be sitting down with a bottle of wine. I mean the ceremony is hours long. Factor in the red carpet? Your whole night is dedicated to the festivities.

If you’re familiar with my writing, you’ll know that I genuinely feel that a cocktail, or a glass of wine, makes everything much better than it really is. Because of this, let me help suggest bottles of wine for you to purchase for the Oscar ceremony this weekend.

Let’s also make it interesting, and connect bottles of wine to Best Picture Nominees shall we?

"Les Misérables": Louis Jardot Beaujolais Villages 2011 or Potel-Aviron Beaujolais Villages 2010

"Django Unchained": Marziano Abbona Barbera d’Alba 2011 or Terra d’Oro Barbera 2010

"Silver Linings Playbook": “Coach” Cabernet 2010 or Doubleback 2009
